Diante Garrett scored 12 points and had eight assists as Iowa State won its third straight after an embarrassing 65-58 home loss to South Dakota State.

Aamir McCleary's 16 points led SIU-Edwardsville (4-12), which was playing its eighth straight road game but had won its last two.

Trailing 8-2, Iowa State went on a 17-3 run and was in control the rest the way. The Cyclones put together a 17-5 run in building a 41-25 halftime lead and led by as many as 41 in the second half.

Hamilton, a 6-foot-11, 255-pounder making his third straight start, hit his first five shots and finished 7-for-9 from the field, including three dunks.
