UPDATE: Man robs Waterloo Veridian Credit Union

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- A masked bandit robbed another eastern Iowa bank late Wednesday.   This time, the man held up a Veridian Credit Union branch in Waterloo.  Surveillance video may hold the key to solving the latest in a string of bank robberies in the Cedar Valley.  The bandit tried to cover his face but it may be a piece of clothing which may be the most distinguishing clue.

A look at surveillance video from the Veridian Credit Union on Lafayette Street in Waterloo.  It's from around 4pm Wednesday afternoon.  A man walks in and gives the teller a note demanding cash.  The teller complies.  The bandit's wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a very noticeable L on it.  He's trying to disguise himself with sunglasses and a mask over his face.  He gets away with some cash.

Police are now looking for him.  They blocked off the bank, its parking lot, and the drive-through window for about two hours.  Investigators interviewed tellers, customers, and others who could give them information about the man.  Waterloo Police say this latest bank robbery fits the mold of other bank robberies this year in the Cedar Valley.  They say they've notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation in this case.  If you have any information, call Waterloo Police.
