Waterloo teen gets 10 years for gun and drug charges

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- A Waterloo teenager involved with several high profile shootings could spend the next 10 years in prison.

On Tuesday, Shantorio Evans, 18, entered an Alford plea to six felony and misdemeanor charges, including gun and drug charges.

The plea means Evans doesn't admit guilt, but admits there was a strong possibility he would be found guilty if the case went to trial.

A criminal complaint says Evans pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at a vehicle driven by Antonio Moore, 19, of Waterloo.  Moore was not hurt in the attack.

Evans' arrest came at a time when a spate of shootings racked Waterloo and left several people injured.

Under Tuesday's plea agreement, a judge could reconsider Evans' sentence after 90 days.
