Clinton man charged with election misconduct

CLINTON (AP) -- A Clinton man has been charged with election misconduct after authorities say he filled out a voter registration form and cast a ballot even though he'd lost his right to vote.

Court records say that 41-year-old David Borgman visited a polling place in Clinton on Election Day and completed and signed a voter registration form swearing he had never had a felony conviction, then cast a ballot.

According to court records, Borgman received a felony conviction for operating while intoxicated third offense in 2006.

First-degree election misconduct is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500.
