Restaurant owner claims business's ID stolen

DUBUQUE (AP) -- The name of a new restaurant and bar in Dubuque has another business owner claiming the new business stole his business's identify.

Darin Beck, owner of Bourbon Street and Voodoo Lounges in Grinnell and Cedar Falls, says the opening of a Bourbon Street Grill and Voodoo Nightclub in Dubuque hits a little too close to home.

He says the logos are similar and both menus feature Big Easy Appetizers. Both are housed in historic downtown buildings and both have bars with Voodoo in the name.

Greg Prehm owns the Dubuque business and says there are more than two dozen Bourbon Street restaurants found online and a half-dozen Voodoo lounges. He says he has trademarked the name of his restaurant and that his attorney says there shouldn't be a problem.

But Beck isn't satisfied and says his attorney believes the chance of the names being a coincidence is zero.
