FEMA gives $10 million for flood recovery

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - FEMA will give more than $10 million for flood-recovery projects in eastern Iowa.

Projects in Lake Delhi, Iowa City, Anamosa, Bluffton and Cedar Falls will split the FEMA dollars.

Repairs to damaged flood walls and drainage pipes at the University of Iowa will be funded at a cost of $1.13 million.

More than $2 million will  be used to dredge sites in Delaware County left filled with sediment after summer rain.

Also getting money are a project to repair equipment at the Streeter Power Generation Plant in Cedar Falls that was closed in June, and more than $1 million to the Iowa DNR to repair a flooded-out parking area at the Bluffton Canoe Landing.
