AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Clint Sargent had 18 points and 10 rebounds and South Dakota State stunned Iowa State 65-58 Tuesday night, picking up one of the biggest wins in school history.
Anthony Cordova added 17 points for the Jackrabbits (6-8), who are in their first year as active members of Division I.
The victory snapped South Dakota State's 17-game road losing streak dating back to last season.
Lucca Staiger hit back-to-back 3s to bring Iowa State (7-4) within 59-56, and Craig Brackins hit two free throws that made it 60-58 with 35.5 seconds left. But Kai Williams broke through Iowa State's press for a dunk that sealed the win.
