Linn county supervisors repeal own pay cut

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Some are calling it a "bait and switch". On Tuesday, the Linn County Board of Supervisors repealed a pay cut for themselves just days before it took effect. That's according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

This past January, Supervisors passed a resolution making the job of supervisor a part-time job, essentially cutting their salaries by about $17,000. At a meeting Tuesday, the board repealed that move just before it was to take effect January first. This as the board is set to expand from three to five supervisors next month.

Adding to the controversy, the board added the item to the agenda at the last minute leaving little room for debate. The supervisors' salaries will go before the county Compensation Board in February.
