Two emergency landings at Quad-City airport

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) -- A spokeswoman for Atlantic Southeast Airlines says two flights made emergency landings at the Quad-City International Airport because of a possible wing flap problem.

ASA is the regional carrier for Delta. Both happened on Sunday at the airport in Moline, Ill.

Spokeswoman Allison Baker says Flight 5322 landed without incident at 3 p.m. It was flying to the Quad Cities from Atlanta.

Baker says Flight 5381, which departed the Quad Cities for Atlanta at 4:30 p.m., returned to the airport about an hour later.

Baker says both pilots declared the emergency after a warning light about a possible problem with a wing flap. She said the incidents were a coincidence, and the airline has a maintenance plan in place to address it immediately.

Baker says ASA pilots are trained to land with or without the full use of the flaps.
