DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- The City of Dubuque's odd/even snow route parking policy will be in effect Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Parking will not be allowed on the "even" numbered side of the streets on Monday and not allowed on the "odd" numbered side of the streets on Tuesday.

The only streets affected are those identified with snow route signs, which include the times that parking is restricted. There will be no allowance for parking prior to the end of the posted time period or after a perceived plow pass. Vehicles violating the restrictions will be ticketed and violators fined $30.

Dubuque residents and downtown visitors are encouraged to park their vehicles in the City of Dubuque's Iowa, Locust, and Fourth Street Parking ramps for free today through Sunday, Dec. 21. The City's Parking Division has opened the parking ramps for free parking to allow residents and people who work downtown, as well as shoppers and visitors, to move their cars off the streets so crews are better able to remove snow from the Downtown area throughout the weekend. Vehicles not removed from the ramps by 8 a.m. Monday morning will have to pay for parking.

When shoveling or snow blowing your driveway and sidewalk, the City asks you not to shovel or blow show into the street. This will reduce the time required to plow all streets and is also a violation of a City ordinance. Violators are subject to a civil penalty of up to $750 and court costs, and are liable for the road hazards created by the snow.
