DUBUQUE (KWWL) - People in Dubuque have waited all day for the snow to fall. Wednesday's predictions called for snow fall by noon Thursdays.

By late Thursday night and we have yet to see a snow flake fall to the ground. But that wasn't stopping people all over Eastern Iowa from stocking up before the storm.

With the threat of winter weather on it's way. A storm of shoppers hit Dubuque's Hy-Vee.

"It's been busy all day along, a lot of urgency to shop," said Store Manager, Denny Hartogh.

That's why Jodi Sigwarth's trip includes some little helpers.

"I was planning on coming tomorrow while the kids were in school but now that the storm is probably gonna be here tomorrow, I figured I better come do it today," said Sigwarth.

She, and her three kids, are shopping for this weekend's family Christmas dinner.

"Oh what else do I have? Oh olive oil, things that I've run out of and that I know I'm gonna need for preparing a meal," she said as she looked at her grocery list.

Preparing a meal that will most likely come with snow on the side.

Among the popular items people were buying thursday: cereal, milk, frozen pizza's, and a case of their favorite beverage.
