Marion Police arrest suspect in murder investigation

MARION (KWWL) - The Marion Police Department is investigating a murder.

Investigators say it happened in Marion Sunday night.

According to the Marion Police Department, a 911 call came from the address of 235 Ridge Court in Marion at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday on a report of an assault.

When investigators arrived they found 50-year-old Daniel Meade unresponsive.

He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and later airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. That's where he was pronounced dead.

Marion Police later arrested 42-year-old Kim Polley and charged him with first-degree murder.

Investigators say no weapon was used.

Polley is currently being held at the Jones County Jail.

A family spokesperson said that Meade was a loving father.
