Floods of 2008: Six months ago

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Six months ago, the flood waters were rising in Cedar Rapids.  Four thousand homes would later be evacuated as water eventually topped street signs in some areas of the city.

Now, new numbers have been released showing the progress so far, and the work that's left ahead.

$5.5 billion dollars is what it will take to rebuild the Cedar Rapids.
So far, city leaders say only $54 million has gotten to the city from the federal government... barely a drop in the bucket.

There is positive news to report.  Newschannel 7's Bryan Goettel will have more on the story today on the news Live at Five.
