Coralville's 28th annual "Aisle of Lights" announced

CORALVILLE (KWWL) -- Coralville's 28th annual "Aisle of Lights" luminaria display will be held Sunday, December 14, where over 30,000 luminaries will be lit at 5:00 p.m. throughout old and new Coralville, creating a magical view of the city for one night during the holiday season.

In addition to viewing the luminaria, visitors may select from a variety of sites offering activities, primarily free-of-charge, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sites include The Iowa Children's Museum; City Hall courtesy of the University of Iowa Community Credit Union; Coralville United Methodist Church; Freedom Security Bank; New Horizons United Methodist Church.

Pre-event activities will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, including "Luminaries on Ice" at the Coral Ridge ice Arena and a special winter celebration at the Johnson County Historical Society and the Antique Car Museum.

There are miles of luminaries available for viewing by foot or car. The city has also has donated several Transit Authority buses to provide free wheelchair-accessible shuttles departing at 6 p.m. for an approximately 45 minute tour. The buses can be boarded at 6 p.m. at either City Hall or the GEICO/McGregor's parking lot just off of Highway 6. A second tour will depart at approximately 6:45 p.m. from City Hall only.
