No. 1 Hawkeyes beat No. 2 Cyclones in record breaking attendance dual

IOWA CITY (KWWL)-- Carver Hawkeye arena set a national dual-meet record last Saturday with a crowd attendance of 15,955 people. The No. 1 Hawkeyes closed out the night by defeating the No. 2 Cyclones 20-15 to claim their fourth straight victory over their in-state rivals

 In the 141lb weight class, proved to be the most exciting match of the night as Iowa's Alex Tsirtsis defeated Iowa State's Nick Gallick with a last second reversal to win 4-2.

In the 149lb weight class Iowa's captain Brent Metcalf put up a good showing as he beat Mitch Mueller by technical fall with a score of 26-10. Metcalf extended his winning streak to 41 matches with the win.

The Hawkeyes are no 9-0 and are going to be heading to Cedar Falls to take on the Panthers Thursday at 7:00 p.m in the McLeod Center.
