Marion man charged with production of child pornography


MARION (KWWL) -- United States Attorney Matt M. Dummermuth announced today that Michael Donehoo, 43, from Marion has been charged with one count of production of child pornography. The charge is contained in a Complaint filed today in United States District Court in Cedar Rapids.

The Complaint alleges that in August 2008, Donehoo took a photograph of a 13-year-old female engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Donehoo allegedly took the photograph in his bedroom in Marion. According to the Complaint, Donehoo allegedly posted the photograph on the Internet.

If convicted, Donehoo faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years' imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 30 years' imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and a supervised release for life following any imprisonment.

Donehoo was arrested on December 6 and appeared today in federal court in Cedar Rapids, and was held pending a detention hearing and preliminary examination scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11. at 9:00 a.m.
