4 recovering from weekend hunting accidents

DES MOINES (KWWL)-- Four people are recovering from accidents as Iowa opened the shotgun deer season this weekend.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources believe slugs that ricocheted were the cause of three out of the four accidents across the state.

On Saturday, Dale Rowson, of Clinton, injured his left leg when a shotgun slug ricocheted off his right leg.

An Afton man was also hit by a shotgun Saturday.

Sunday, Bradley Lynch, of Grundy Center, was struck in the chest by a slug that investigators say, passed through a deer before hitting him.

Another man, Daniel Rickelman, of Fort Madison, was shot in the thigh while hunting near Fairfield.
