DUBUQUE (KWWL) - Traffic was blocked at the railroad intersection of Hawthorne and Rhomberg Avenue Saturday in Dubuque. The 10th Annual Holiday Train made a stop in Dubuque early Saturday afternoon. And hundreds of youngsters turned out to see the train.

Dubuque is one of 100 communities the Canadian Pacific will make a stop in before Christmas. The Holiday Train features Christmas lights and decorations, a traveling band, and yes, even Mr. and Mrs. Clause. But the trains real purpose is to raise food, money and awareness for local food banks.

"Right here in Dubuque. Nothing is loaded on to the train, everything that is collected here today, stays right here for the local food pantry, the Dubuque Food Pantry," said Jeffery Johnson with the Holiday Train.

Dubuque's Mayor, Roy Boul stopped by to singing along and spread the holiday cheer. Saturday's event bought hundreds of donations to Dubuque's Food Pantry. The trains final stop in Iowa is Saturday in Lansing at 8:00 p.m.
