AIDS in Iowa

Waterloo (KWWL) - Around the globe and in Iowa, people are recognizing World AIDS Day.

The Iowa Department of Public Health finds that more than 1,500 Iowans live with AIDS, 1/3 of them in Polk County.

In eastern Iowa, the county with the most residents with HIV or AIDS is Scott with 167. Next is Johnson and Linn with just more than 100. Eastern Iowa counties not mentioned have less than two dozen cases.
