Wapsie Valley School District citizens receive automated calls about upcoming election

FAIRBANK (KWWL) -- On September 8th and 9th, Wapsie Valley School District citizens received automated phone calls that appeared to be from the Oran Sanitation Board (OSB).  In the days following that election, it was determined that the OSB number was used inappropriately by someone in order to gain the trust of district voters.

The person(s) responsible for the phone calls have never come forward and information provided in the automated message was called into question.  District voters are encouraged to carefully research the issues on the ballot and are reminded that last-minute efforts rarely provide the opportunity for voters to do so.

If district citizens receive last minute automated calls prior to the upcoming election, they should be cautioned that the source of the call may be unreliable.
