Three Americans injured in India

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department is reporting that at least three Americans were injured in the series of terrorist attacks in India's financial capital of Mumbai.

Departmental spokesman Robert McInturff said the U.S. government has no information that any U.S. citizens died in the attacks. He said he couldn't identify those injured.

The spokesman did say that U.S. officials have been checking with Indian authorities and hospitals, and have called American citizens who registered with the U.S. consulate.

"We have a lot of dual citizens who travel a lot," said McInturff.  "We have activated a phone tree. We're taking names of those we have and see who they know."
