NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL)-- The city of North Liberty looking for citizen volunteers to help plan local hazard mitigation. Well planned hazard mitigation is the cornerstone of emergency management.

Planning will  involve smaller projects, such as community education campaigns, or larger projects, such as planning and building tornado shelters and flood protection projects.

Volunteers would participate in no more than eight meetings scheduled on a monthly basis.

Interested residents can contact Mulcahey at tmulcahey@ci.north-liberty.ia.us or (319) 626-5700. The first meeting is scheduled for December 2 at 10 a.m. in the North Liberty City Council Chambers, 25 W. Cherry Street.
