Hawk fans enjoy final game at the Metrodome

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA (KWWL) -- Snow, freezing temps, and wind are all things Hawkeye fans have gotten used to it when they travel to Minnesota in late November.

"Its not tailgating if its not cold," said one tailgater.

It doesn't hurt when part of the deal is watching the game in the conforts of the Metrodome.

"Its nice to go insede and be warm," said tailgater Jeff Less from Des Moines.

"Being outside for six hours before the game is a little bit different, but once we get in there hopefully we get the friendly enviornment of Kinnick north," said another tailgater.

This is Minnesota's final football game with guarunteed perfect weather.  The next time the Hawks play in Minneapolis, it will be in the Gophers' new outdoor stadium.

"Its sad it's the last year for the dome but its an experience, gotta live it up." "i've heard some might not be coming back," said Harry Petakos from Chicago, Illinois.

While a few might scared away by the thought of sitting through weather like this, plenty of others say they're ready to take it outside.

"Hawk fans are pretty dedicated, you see us out here now and its freexing out so i would to think we'll have the same following whether it's outisde or indoors..we're kind of nuts, i want to see the new stadium we gotta make it kinnick north again," said Brad Meyer of Mount Vernon.
