Animal shelter has new home

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The Cedar Rapids Animal Control shelter was forced to move to Kirkwood college during this summer's flood.  Friday they moved to a new shelter.

Although Friday's move is only temporary, staff are excited to have a place to call their own and be back together again.

"There's a sense of relief from the staff, from the volunteers we have, pretty much everybody," said Sgt. Kent Choate.  "At least we're in one spot and we can get back to somewhat of a normal routine."

There are signs posted on both Blairsferry road and Center Point road pointing out the new location.
