Are you DTV ready: The Test

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- On Thursday, KWWL will conduct a DTV test, aimed at helping viewers prepare for the switch to digital.

During the News at Noon and the News at Six, there will be a countdown clock at the bottom of the screen. When it reaches zero, KWWL's analog signal will go down for 90 seconds. During that time viewers still receiving the analog signal will see a message telling them they are not ready for the switch to digital.

Anyone receiving a digital signal using cable, satellite or a converter box will not notice a change. Some cable and satellite customers may have a problem during the test because some cable and satellite providers have not switched to a digital signal yet. But, they will before the deadline in February. That means anyone using cable or satellite is ready for the switch and doesn't need to change anything.

If you experience any problems during the test, KWWL will have a panel of experts on hand to take your calls. Call 319-291-1293 or 1-800-947-7746.

You can also more information on our DTV Answers page, including how to apply for a converter box coupon.
