Culver announces mental health services for disaster victims
DES MOINES (KWWL) -- Even though the physical part of flood recovery continues the emotional part of recovery is just as important.
Gov. Chet Culver says that Iowa will receive more than $4 million in federal funds to extend counseling and mental health services for disaster victims. He says the extension will cover funding through September of next year.
Culver says it's important to support the victims of the summer's floods and storms and that the effects are not always visible. The funds come from grants from FEMA and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
