BENTON COUNTY (KWWL) -- Immigration agents have arrested four men at two Chinese restaurants in eastern Iowa on charges of being in the country illegally.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and the Iowa State Patrol made the arrests at restaurants in Vinton and Toledo, both are called Peony Restaurants.

"Then he said, you get these ladies some to go boxes because they are going to be leaving, Karen Bahr said, "There was another lady that was going to have carryout, and he said she wouldn't be able to have that either, so we left shortly after that."

ICE Spokesman Tim Counts says three of the men are from Mexico and one is from China. He declined to name those arrested or say what prompted the investigation.

Agents arrived at the restaurants about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Local law enforcement and the Iowa State Patrol aided Immigration and Customs Inforcement during the raid, those inside the restaurant, eating their lunch were told to leave shortly after agents came in.

The arrested men were questioned in Cedar Rapids, then held in county jails to await administrative hearings. Counts said the most severe penalty they face is deportation.
