Waterloo cab driver robbed at gunpoint


WATERLOO (KWWL) -- A routine pick-up turned scary for a Yellow Cab driver in Waterloo Monday morning.

Waterloo police say the female drivers was robbed at 1:45 a.m. Monday outside a residence in the 1200 block of West Mullan.

The driver says two men got in the cab, and put a gun to her head, demanding money.

They also took her purse and cell phone.

Police have not located the suspects. They were seen running toward Elmwood Cemetery.

The suspects are described as black males in their late teens to mid-twenties. One was described as being about five foot, three inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a bright orange hooded sweatshirt. The other subject was described as approximately six feet tall and weighing over two hundred pounds and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.  

No injuries were reported.
