IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics say eight employees have been disciplined for inappropriately accessing patient information.
The problem surfaced during a routine review of computer access. The access violated privacy policies at the hospital and several employees receiving unpaid suspensions and one being fired.
The hospital did not release details involving how the information was accessed and why it qualified as inappropriate, but said that all patients involved have been notified.
