Iowa City (KWWL) - National Suicide Survivors Day is approaching, and Iowa agencies want friends and family members of suicide victims, to know there are resources.

It is estimated that each year, more than 30,000 people die by suicide. . The Crisis Center in Iowa City is among 130 plus conference sites participating in National Survivors of Suicide Day, sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The tenth annual program features a panel comprised of survivors of suicide loss and medical experts. The Day allows survivors of suicide loss to connect with other survivors in their local community and online in an empowering and healing environment.

The event will be Saturday, November 22nd 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, at the Crisis Center in Iowa City. For some survivors, AFSP's National Survivors of Suicide Day is the first time they will share their grief, reach out for support and support others. To learn more, please visit <>.
