Amber Alert test across Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday morning across Iowa.  The alert is to notify people across the state know when a child has been abducted.

Wednesday's alert was only a test.  It had been planned for earlier in the year, but was postponed because of Iowa's natural disasters.

At 8:45 Wednesday morning, the alert ran on televisions, and was heard on radio broadcasts.  Signs over busy interstates also carry the alert message.

The test came to an end around 9:15 a.m. after the "all-clear."
