Sartori to feature holiday parade as part of Festival of Trees

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The Sartori Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is adding an additional festivity to their 20th Annual Festival of Tree event in Cedar Falls.

A holiday parade has been added to this years festivities and will take place with the tree lighting ceremony on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.

Festival goes will meet at the natural pine in the northwest corner of Overman Park for the Sartori Tree Lighting ceremony. Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare CEO, Jack Dusenbery, will conduct the tree lighting, featuring music by members of the Cedar Falls High School Choir.

The holiday parade will follow starting at the corner of 2nd and Washington, heading east to Main and ending near 7th & Main.

The 2008 parade will feature 24 entries including AMVETS Post #49, the UNI Cheerleaders and T.C., as well as Santa & Mrs. Claus.

The public is invited to enjoy hot cocoa and cookies after the parade at First National Bank of Cedar Falls.

Other events during the Festival of Trees include Santa's Drop & Shop Playhouse, silent auctions and special offers from participating downtown merchants, and tours of historical sites in Cedar Falls.

The Sartori Lights Up Downtown Parade and Tree Lighting event is free to the public and all are invited to participate in the many holiday events planned for Thursday night in Cedar Falls.
