Many city offices closed for Veterans Day

WATERLOO (KWWL)-- Tuesday is Veterans Day, which means there is a number of services that will be closed to the public.

The Iowa Workforce Development offices and DOT offices will be closed statewide.

In Iowa City administrative offices at City Hall will be closed in observance of Veterans Day. Iowa City Transit Buses will operate on regular schedule. Parking meters will be enforced and parking ramps will charge. The parking office in Tower Place will be closed. The Iowa City Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Senior Center in Iowa City will be closed and no meals will be served. Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Centers will be closed. Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center will be closed. Refuse recycling and yard waste will not be collected on Veterans Day as well. Residents should place their refuse, recycling and yard waste to the curb by 7 a.m. Wednesday.

In Coralville, City Hall, Police Administration Offices, sanitation departments, and library will be closed. The Coralville bus service will run normal routes and schedules. Trash and recycling will be picked up on Wednesday

City offices will be closed in the following towns: Dubuque, Kalona, West Liberty, West Branch, Wellman, Riverside, Lone Tree and Tiffin.

All federal offices and services will be closed for Veterans Day as well. All services that are listed as closed will resume back to regular schedule on Wednesday.
