Cedar Rapids emergency demolition air quality results released

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The results of the air quality testing during the emergency demolition of houses in Cedar Rapids for Nov. 5-6 have been released.

The city began demolition on flood-damaged houses that sustained extensive structural damage on Oct. 28.

The air quality is being monitored by Family Environmental Compliance Services. The tests are being taken in three locations on the downwind side of the demolition site of the day.

The Environmental Protection Agency has established a clearance level of .01 fibers per cubic centimeter for safe breathing conditions. So far, these tests have remained at a safe level.

Test results for 1621 10th St SE on November 6, 2008 are as follows: 0.003, 0.002 & 0.002
