Donations for flood victims in Waverly

Waverly (KWWL) -- The Rebuild Iowa Commission met Thursday to talk long-term recovery for the state following this summer's record flooding.

Meanwhile, immediate help is availbale in Waverly. The Bremer County Recovery Coalition is collecting supplies -- food, clothing and more -- to hand out to flood victims. The group is still looking for more donations to be dropped off at Trinkets and Togs in Waverly.

"There are specific things that we need and so we're trying to make sure we get those," said Dan Kittle, chair of the Bremer County Recovery Coalition. "Many of those things are related to the winter, you know, like winter clothes, coats, those types of items."

The group will hand out the supplies to flood victims this Saturday, starting at 1:00 pm, next to the Miller Tru Value Hardware Store in Waverly.
