Man charged with ID theft worked at polls

CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) -- A man alleged to have used identity theft to steal nearly $30,000 from a political candidate volunteered as an election worker on Saturday and Monday in Linn County.

Adrian Noe had served as a consultant to Iowa House 37 candidate Renee Schulte until he was arrested in July for unauthorized use of a credit card. According to police he admitted making nearly $30,000 in unauthorized charges on Schulte's credit card.

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller says he stopped Noe from volunteering when he was notified that his case was going to trial in December.

He says Noe did not have access to sensitive voter information and was working as a "greeter."
