Teens and TV

Teens who watch TV programs that show sexual content are twice as likely to get pregnant or father a child, according to a study by the Rand Corporation.

Researchers surveyed over two thousand teens in 2001 and followed up with them in 2004.

TV viewing played a role in pregnancy, as well as whether a child lived in a two-parent household or they had behavioral problems.

Experts say the amount of sexual content on TV has risen substantially, but the consequences and responsibilities associated with sex have not.
