Big gender gap in state pay

IOWA (KWWL)-- There's a big gap when it comes to state pay in terms of gender.

Of the state's 100 highest paid employees, 86 are men.

An analysis of data by the Cedar Rapids Gazette says the gender gap in state pay has increased by 20 percent in the past four years.

The median salary of the highest paid male employees in the state is 235,000, while the median for women is 140,000 per year.
