Tomorrow-- a former Iowa Hawkeye assistant coach returns to the sidelines after a bout with cancer.

Western Illinois head coach Don Patterson will be on the bench for the first time this season when the Leathernecks host Northern Iowa tomorrow in Macomb, Illinois.

Patterson missed the first seven games of the season while being treated for tonsillar cancer.

Former UNI Panther player Mark Hendrickson has led Western Illinois to a five and two record as acting head coach during Patterson's absence.
