Hard economic times are impacting everyone, including local hospitals. University Hospitals and Clinics officials say they will cut 3-point-1 million dollars in costs every month. They have to make up for about 25-million dollars by next June. The savings would come from vacant positions, hourly worker cuts and non-labor costs. The hospital says cash flow is down, expenses are up and the flood cost them millions. But it's not all bad, the UI is planning a renovation and expansion to the hospital by 2013.
