Estimate rise for Hawks renovations

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - An initial projection of $10 million for possible new, expanded or renovated football practice and administration facilities at the University of Iowa has doubled to more than $20 million.

The Iowa Board of Regents has granted the school permission to evaluate its options.

Iowa athletic director Gary Barta says three donors have committed $11 million to the project. It will be funded by private support.

The project will focus on the football team's administration and practice bubble. Doug True, the school's vice president of finance, says cost variations depend on a number of factors, including relocating the practice bubble to free up land for hospital parking.
