Air Quality Tests are Recorded after Demolitions in Cedar Rapids

Posted:

CEDAR RAPIDS, (KWWL)- The City of Cedar Rapids began demolishing flood-damaged housed that sustained extensive structural damage on October 28, 2008.

The City also hired Family Environmental Compliance Services to monitor air quality. They will be conducting daily tests for asbestos during the demolition process.

Daily air quality tests are taken in three locations on the down wind side of the demolition site. The samples are analyzed and results are produced the day after the demolition.

So far, these tests have remained at a safe level below that standard.

These test results are also posted on www.corridorrecovery.org and will soon be posted on the Linn County Air Quality Division web site at http://www.air.linn.ia.us/.
