CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) --A smothering Cedar Falls defense took advantage of four first-half Cedar Rapids Jefferson turnovers, as the Tigers crushed the Jayhawks, 49-12 in the sub-state round of the Iowa High School Football Playoffs. The Tigers Jay Brummel scored from the three-yard line to open the scoring with 4:36 left in the first quarter. Later, Kyle Bernard fired 22-yards to Blake Davis to give CF a 14-0 lead. Collin Albrecht scooped up a Tyler Evans fumble and raced to the end zone for a 21-0 Tiger lead. Then, late in the first half, Kyle Bernard fired a 42-yard touchdown pass to Blake Davis. Davis made a beautiful over the shoulder catch of the perfectly thrown ball, as Cedar Falls went to the locker room with a 28-0 halftime lead.
