Gladbrook-Reinbeck outlasts Garner-Hayfield 12-0

REINBECK (KWWL) --

After surviving a very tough class one-a district in which six of the eight teams finished with winning records-- Gladbrook-Reinbeck is playoff ready for their first round game against Garner-Hayfield. This is a rematch of a non-district game played earlier this season won by Gladbrook-Reinbeck, 28 to 21.

After a quick three and out for the G-R Rebels, the Garner-Hayfield Cardinals began make'n some hay first with a nice 10-yard screen pass to number 22 Aaron Nedved.  Then, it was Jake Young  went back to the air and completes the pass for the Cardinals, but Bryant Medhus for the Rebels lowers his shoulder and the rest of his teammates pile on the Cardinal for a nice stop.

Rebels try to get their first, first down in the game with their third possession. Quarterback number seven Clint Dinsdale scrambles and some how threads the needle to number 47, tight end Brett Bengen, for a 16-yard pick up.  But there was not much of any offense for both teams for much of the game.

One of the only big plays of the first half was 78-yard booming punt for the Rebels. The first score of the game came with only five minutes left on the clock. G-R picked off a Cardinal pass and ran it in for a 35-yard touchdown.  A few minutes later the Rebels would pick off another Garner-Hayfield pass which would eventually lead to another Rebel score.

The Final 12 - 0 Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels.
