Athlete of the Week: Allison Rottinghaus

Posted:

Don Bosco's number two ranking is nothing new this year.  What's different is the face of the "A-Team".  It's our Athlete of the Week, Junior Allison Rottinghaus.

Look at the roster and you'll see where the nickname comes from; Allison and Audrey Rottinghaus, Abby Breitbach, Alaina Rigdon, Anne Weber, Abbie Schares, and Amy Etringer are all a part of the Dons success even if the popular tv show predates them.

Allison has been the showstopper, emerging from under the shadow of last year's middle Allison Arthur.  Initially, Rottinghaus says she lacked the confidence to handle her new role but her coach and setter are not surprised how she has stepped up to lead the team.

With nine kills in Wednesday night's regional win over North Tama, Allison Rottinghaus has Don Bosco three wins away from appearing in the state tournament for the first time since 2005.
