Hawkeyes sweep Big Ten honors

Iowa City, Iowa -- Ever since the Big Ten began handing out Player of the Week awards in 1987, the Iowa Hawkeyes had never swept both the offensive and defensive awards in the same week.  That ended Monday with running back Shonn Greene being honored on the offensive side while linebacker Pat Angerer took the defensive award.

Greene's exploits were well documented as the Hawkeye junior ran for 217 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Wisconsin Badger defense, while Angerer recorded a career high 16 tackles and 2 interceptions in the big Iowa win.

As for his two picks, Angerer says they weren't that tough.  "I just dropped back and he threw it right at me.  They were beating us with that route earlier in the game and luckily I knew it was coming, I knew I had to get depth, and I sort of spot dropped right in the spot wherer they were throwing it, and I got lucky.  He threw it right at me."

The hawks now have a week off to heal.  Next up they travel to Champaign to take on the Illini one week from Saturday.
