Trial delayed in Des Moines slayings

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Trial has been delayed to March 9 for a Des Moines man accused of killing two women and holding his three children hostage.

Nath Inthaboun is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. His trial had been scheduled for Nov. 17.

Inthaboun is accused of killing his common law wife, Bounpamh Xayavogchanh and a neighbor, Amalia Vasquez.

The incident began just before 6 a.m. on Aug. 14 and ended more than two hours later, when police stormed a house and rescued three children. Police say Inthaboun shot at officers as they rushed inside.

He is being held in the Polk County Jail on $1.4 million bond.
