National Teen Driver Safety Week

(KWWL)-- It is the start of National Teen Driver Safety Week and there's growing concern over teens on the road.

The latest figures show that more than 4,000 16 to 19 year olds die in auto accidents each year and 400,000 are treated for crash-related injuries.

More statistics reveal that one third of all teen drivers will have an accident within the first year of getting their license.

New bumper sticker programs are helping monitor teen driving. A number is issued to each sticker as is is a toll free number to report a teen driving recklessly.
