House explosion injures two

ALPHA (KWWL) -- Two people were hurt Sunday afternoon after a house exploded in the Fayette County town of Alpha.

Neighbors tell KWWL-TV that the man and the woman living in the home were trying to ignite a pilot light when the blast occured.

The explosion happened  around 1:30 p.m. at a home at Johnson's Mill Road.

The couple living there was rushed to the hospital with burn injuries.

The blast blew the home off of part of its foundation and shattered windows.

Neighbors said the man living there suffered burns to his face and has more serious injuries than the woman.
