South Winneshiek, Calmar vs. Aplington-Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG (KWWL) --  In what has been a magical season in the face of tragedy, Aplington-Parkersburg entered week eight having already clinched a share of the 1-A District three title.

South Winn in a four way tie for second, still battling for its playoff life.

The Falcons would come out fired up, entering under the tornado ravaged Falcon Country sign, a new tradition for the Sacred Acre this year.

A-P would score their first touchdown with a 12 yard run by QB Alec Thompson. Thompson would score the Falcons second TD as well, and just like the Falcons were up 14 to nothing.

South Winn gets on the board with a one yard quarter back keeper by Jordan Andera, but A-P would keeping pounding the ball at South Winn.

Collin Tenney scores from two yards out and the Falcons go up 21 to 8 in the first quarter.

South Winn would work out of the shotgun and Andera hands off to the Warriors running back and he gets in for 6. 

Then the Falcons would break a big play, by that explosive half back Alex Hornbuckle who goes 69 yards to the big house.

With just two minutes left in the first half A-P was up 37 to 20 over South Winn and it wouldn't get any better in the second half for the Warriors.

This one turns into a basketball game, the Falcons win 59 to 28.
